Cameri
The city of Cameri is ancient, once a mining town in the time of the Empire of Kataris, which played a prominent role in the Greenstone Alliance following the fall of the Katari Empire. Annexed by the Alderni in the 694 AK, it was considered a strategically important town due to its mining and ironworking industries, and over the centuries developed into a major city. Heavily fortified, its skyline is dominated by the ancient Castello Cameri - a fortress built under Katari rule and expanded numerous times since then - and the rather more modern Grand Arsenal (formerly known as the Royal Arsenal), which was one of the primary stockpiles and manufactorums of weaponry for Aldernord.
Cameri has a sizable Tevashi population, well-integrated into the Savu majority, and likewise significant numbers of elves and half-elves. The Tevashi guilds have historically held a great deal of power and influence in the city, always somewhat to the annoyance of the Alderni nobility; following the city's surrender and subsequent accession to the League of Savura, the guilds were able to arrange for one of their own - Eleth Strongbeam, of the Guild of Mining Engineers - to be appointed the interim Autokrator. She is regarded as something of a fire-brand, agitating for the restoration of the powers of the Senate - though being careful not to overstep the mark by calling for the removal of the Dictator, at least in public.
