Onesto Schimeri-Zaal
Born 1300 AK in Cameri, into the client-house of House Schimeri-Zaal. Studied at the Cameri Military Academy, purchasing a commission in the Fourth Grand Regiment of Aldernord in 1322. Saw action in Kjelslund and Alumark in the 1320’s; appointed Knight-Banneret of the Fifteenth Cohort of Infantry, the “Wyrmbane”, in 1327 AK. Led the 15th Cohort for thirteen years until he was badly injured in the Battle of the Ford of 1340AK; he sustained wounds which could easily have been fatal, but nonetheless did manage to recover from them. During his convalescence he experienced a religious epiphany, and thereafter resigned his commission and entered the priesthood of Ekirena. He was appointed Sacristan of the Hospital of Ekirena in 1343 AK.
