Morkatherit

(a.k.a. Morkath)

One of the Five Great Dragons of Mandragore, Morkath is an ancient blue Dragon of great power and influence.   An extremely powerful magician, Morkath is also understood to have the ability to consume the souls of other beings. When encountered by adventurers in 1344AK, he was noted to have five draconic souls bound to him - one of which was that of Zuravatuul. Morkath claimed that he had not been responsible for Zura's death, and though he seemed to be aware of the circumstances that it had occured in he did not elaborate further; whilst he did admit to harvesting Zura's soul after her death, he denied any intention of "digesting" it.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Morkath's true form is that of an enormous blue dragon, though when interacting with mortals he has been known to take on the form of a blue-scaled dragonborn. In all his known forms, he has an abstract red glyph tattooed around his left eye socket.

Special abilities

In his draconic form, Morkath is capable of flight and of breathing clouds of electrically-charged air.

Personal history

Morkath's precise age is unclear, though as a contempory of Dendrithekimallion he is likely well into his third millenium of life a the very least. He is thought to have been a warrior of the Draconic Imperium who joined with the Oathcircle during the Darkest Day, when they marched on Pardatheum against the armies of Rram sh'Az va'Ux, the Ninth and final Paragon of Azoth.   Following the stalemate at Pardatheum, Morkath was one of the survivors who, along with Elia of Tchokayahattak, Amuriel of Vash Edom, Dendrithekimallion, Hassoreliath, and Zuravatuul, founded the Oath of the Long Watch. Along with Hassoreliath, he was one of the leaders of the Long Watch who attempted to reach out to the members of the Oath of Night in order to avoid the War of Binding continuing beyond the defeat of the Paragons; this resulted in the creation of the Larian Consensus.   Whilst it has rarely been stated publically, Morkath has implied that he was one of the two co-rulers of the Dyarchy of Laria, who were defeasted at the Battle of Khorderion by the Basilisk Queens - whom he claims were aided by the Teriani in this endeavour, and particularly by Elnaril Galvan. It is unclear if Morkath did indeed die at Khorderion, and subsequently managed to return to life by some means, or whether he was able to escape the Basilisk Queens and concealed himself for several centuries before returning to found the nation of Mandragore.
