Kasma'atul

Kasma'atul is said to have been a great city-state in the northern part of the continent of Aaranak, which existed in the distant past. Little is known of the history of the city; it is believed to have been of a similar age to Vash Ossai, founded at the end of the Aeon of Ice (if not earlier), and destroyed at some point in the distant past, thousands of years before the rise of the Empire of Kataris.
According to one account, that taught by certain esoteric sects of the Daughters of Null, the people of Kasma'atul were primarily tieflings. The same account tells that the destruction of the city came at the hands of Rram sh'Az va'Ux, a gnollish general of the hegemonic state of Pardatheum, who sacked the city and massacred its inhabitants. Rram sh'Az va'Ux later sided with the Paragons of Azoth; the survivors of Kasma'atul were also approached as potential allies by the Paragons but refused to join them in their plan to Shatter the Azoth, appalled that the slaughterer of their people could be so easily forgiven.
Those that survived the destruction of Kasma'atul may have been among the distant ancestors of the Ald, and thus of the Daughters of Null.
