Crown Princess Hildegard Bheuren, Countess of Crobbenberg
Born 1293, Crown Princess Hildegard is the first in line to the Throne of Aldernord; with her mother being in ill health at present, she will most likely be attending the wedding in the Queen’s absence. She is married to Lord-Scion Eduardo Votellian, the elder brother of Duchess Fiordelise Votellian, and has one adult daughter - Princess Beatrix. Hildegard has a reputation as an ambitious political hardliner, though she is somewhat of a divisive figure among the High Houses due to her involvement negotiating the Zallenkirk Accords. Whilst publicly she is credited with finally ending the Long War, there have been accusations made by some of the other High Houses that she in fact allowed the negotiations to play out significantly longer than necessary in order to attempt to buy more time for Aldernord to consolidate its position, and indeed that she may have actively worked to undermine the negotiations in secret in order to attempt to improve her own position at the expense of her rivals within Aldernord. It is unclear whether her meddling did indeed improve the peace settlement for Aldernord - but there are certainly several thousand Alderni casualties that can be directly attributed to her delaying tactics. If we are serious about ensuring that Princess Beatrix is able to take the throne, it is likely that we will need to at minimum discredit Hildegard and distance her from her potential allies in the High Houses. We would need the backing of a majority of Matriarchs - at least five - in order to successfully bar her from the line of succession.
