C'thiolk'then
C'thiolk'then - a name which contains elements of Aquan and Abyssal, and could be glossed as "Wise Monarch of Moon and Tide" - is an Aboleth which has been encountered in the Blue Abyss. It has claimed to be extremely ancient and knowledgeable, and to be the most metaphysically important entity in all of creation - in part due to its freedom from the Web of Fate and knowledge of the Astral Sea.
C'thiolk'then has demonstated familiarity with numerous topics including the actions of the Paragons, the creation of the Hexblades, and the history of the Eladrin and the Leshay. The full extent of its knowledge is unknown, but likely extensive. It appears to be highly curious about mortals, especially those who have been freed from the Web of Fate, and has often stated that it wishes to "observe" mortals and the choices that they make. When given an invitation to do so, it has demonstrated the ability to gain a deep access to the minds of mortals, reading their thoughts, dreams, and memories and eavesdropping on telepathic conversations in which they are involved; in doing so, it has demonstrated a remarkable ability to circumvent some of the usual protections against such intrusions.
C'thiolk'then's ultimate agenda is, at present, unknown.
Relationship with the Paragons
C'thiolk'then has displayed a degree of ambivalence towards the Paragons of Azoth. It has stated that it was not involved - or at most was only peripherally involved - in the events which led to the Shattering of the Azoth, and has claimed to regret the outcome of those events, if not the manipulations which led up to them. Equally, it has made passing reference to having learned certain things which changed its view of reality as a result of the destruction of the Azoth and the breaching of several of the Great Gates. According to Elia, some members of the Oathcircle - principally Hekanta - entered into an alliance with C'thiolk'then which resulted in them betraying Ceneric ap Rutcoddr during the aftermath of her battle with the armada of Oro ban Qari in the seas near sunken Shas'Ellith. Elia has also claimed that Ceneric's continued binding is at least in part due to C'thiolk'then's intervention. It is unclear what C'thiolk'then's motivation inOther Utterances
C'thiolk'then has claimed that Tzumeqiel is one of the few entities which it considers "relevant" within creation; this may in some way relate to Tzumeqiel's supposed intention to bring about the end of time in order to free Yandra Din Ma'az from her curse, though the precise nature of C'thiolk'then's interest remains unclear.
