Rbz31: Message

General Summary

Once the return reunite at the Rubezahl, it does not take long for them to retrofit the damaged engines and patch the ship to be space-worthy again. However, while the final repairs are taking place, Quinn spends an evening praying at the Shrine. As he settles into his meditation, he is immersed into a vision of priests carrying a grand chest through a burning jungle.
Prophecy: "Escort / Religion"

By the end of the week, the Rubezahl is ready to fly. The crew waste no time leaving Elysium. They blast off from the tangled depths of the jungle and go through the familiar ritual of tuning the sunflower for navigation. By now, the plant had grown out of the pot of soil Quinn has purchased it in, and its stem and roots thread through the tiles and floorboards of the ship mess.   Quinn communes with the plant while calling out directions for Benesh to orient the ship. They enter hyperspace and are travel back through the Orange-Green Nebula when they suddenly find themselves in the midst of a cloud of debris at an anchorage point -- the hull seemingly still warm with recent activity.
Space Sighting: Debris Field: Metallic Wreckage
With fragments of metal bouncing off the ship's hull, Benesh manages to stop the ship and the crew conduct quickly don vacsuits to conduct a quick spacewalk. They start to search for survivors, but quickly realize there would be none. Whatever ship it was had been disintegrated into space junk. The rescue mission turned to one of salvage, and they retrieve several valuable components -- familiar looking components. An eerie sense of unease settled over them as they begin to bring in electronics that could easily be fitted within the Rubezahl, until they came across a data array still stenciled with Rubezahl's ship registration, down to the last alphanumeral. The crew look to each other with consternation as they plug the data array into the ship. The files were corrupted but there was a garbled recording still active in cache. They gingerly push the file through decoding filters and retrieve a garbled message.
"... came out of nowhere...
... lost Reinhard...
... is too late for us.
You have to...
... make sure to avoid...
...last chance."
