Enia

Enia is the Acadean goddess of life. Her main domains are fertility and art, but also the wilderness untouched by humans. In Acadean art, Enia is often described as a pregnant woman with dark hair and eyes and sun-tanned skin, with features that are often interpreted as kind and motherly. Her most important symbols are the flute, showing her connection to art, but also to nature, and the cow, which is considered a representation of fertility.

In Acadean mythology, Enia is the counterpart of Othior, the god of death, who's sacred day is the winter solstice. In direct opposition to that, Enia's sacred day is the summer solstice, when the world is at its brightest and overflowing with life. Her domain and the timing of her holy day leads to her being commonly depicted with flowers braided into her hair.

Out of the seven Acadean deities, Enia is likely the most universally loved and worshipped one. Mythology shows her as an advocate of peace, life and prosperity throughout all the turmoil and suffering of the gods fighting amongst each other. Many like her for her straight-forward, non-manipulative nature, and as she represents life itself, worshipping her is considered, quite literally, vital.

On her sacred day, the summer solstice, the Feast of Enia is celebrated throughout the areas where the Faith of the Seven is prevalent.

Back in the times of the Acadean Empire, the festivities began on the solstice and lasted a week. Nowadays, the celebrations usually only last one day.

During the festivities, life itself is celebrated. Music and theatre performances are a core part of the celebrations. During the Feats of Enia, beef must not be eaten, as the cow is sacred to Enia
