General Summary

Cerdic born to Vortigern and Rowena. Attila the Hun invades Gaul; defeated at Chalons by Count Aetius who is supported by Aquitainians and other allied nations, including the Britons. King Theodoric dies on the battlefield and his son, Thorismund, becomes the King of Aquitaine.

En Césarée Maxime :

News from the continent that the Huns led by their king, Attila, invade Gaul for pillage and plunder, scouring the land of its wealth, slaughtering as they go. The commander in Gaul, Aetius, sends for help from all who could spare it, and Vortigern sends a contingent — all of them being Dissidents. The allied army meets the Huns at Catalaunian Fields (Chalons), where the Huns are defeated and driven from Gaul. Word comes back with the returning knights that the Prince of the Parisi died at Chalons.

In this same year, a son, named Cerdic, is born to Vortigern and Rowena.
