In 2043, the four largest and most influential tech giants in the world: Eden Corp, Net/sense, Infocomp Cybersecurity, and Lazarus partnered with the United States government to implement a firewall to allow them to keep corporate secrets outside of the public eye. This ensured that the transfer of sensitive data would be secure and, most importantly, untraceable. The Great Firewall is one of the most complex and secure data blocker ever conceived. Nothing can get in or out without proper high-level clearance. It employs the use of sub-kernel, multi-layered code that ciphers and scrambles data over a trillion times and incinerates possible worms, viruses, and bugs. It has thought to have been unbreakable for years. However, it has been rumored that a certain group of Netrunners have a shard of the Firewall and there are many groups itching to get their hands on such a shard...
