The Inquisition

Fanatical followers of The Church of the New God, the Inquisition answers only to the Emperor of the Ilisuaqian Empire. Their goal is to hunt down and destroy Cults within the Empire, however they often extend their mandate to Witchcraft and followers of The Old Gods. The various Emperors have either approved of this, or turned a blind eye to this zealousness; the current Empress Helena the Brutal has seemed to encourage the Inquisition's aggression.
The Inquisition is a subset of the Church: its agents are agents of the church, and act as Inquisitors in addition to (or as) their church duties.
The Inquisition has a small pressence in the Gedian Empire, although they are more restrained where they don't have the backing of the local governors.
