Ordan Soil

A material from Klint.
Onyx soil is a type of soil with glimmering oily quality to it.
The soil can be proccesed into a grainy oil with 1 inch clumps in it. This is called Ordan Mud.
The mud can be seperated into Ordan Oil and Ordan Clay.
Through proccesign the two can be reunited agin itno a smooth material called Ordan Mass.
The Ordan Oil can be proccesed into Refined Ordan Oil which is not grainy.
From ordan soil one gets half as much ordan mud.
1 kg ordan mud can be seperated into 0,3 kg ordan oil and 0,5 ordan clay with the rest going to waste.
1 kg ordan oil can at best be refined into 0,75 refined oil but it is not uncommon ofr the process to reduce the amount of oil to half.
In the process of creating refined ordan soil you get out 7-10% of the initial ordan soil mass.
Ordan Mud is a good fertilizer
Ordan Oil is better fertilizer but often not worth the effort. The exeption is some specific type of flowers which are hard to grow.
Ordan Soap is made out of ordan materials and soap components. Ordan Oil also have, accordign to folk lore, some healing properties and. Its graininess makes it very nice to clean oneself with and good for skin care. Some poeple have used the Ordan Oil as it is but due to its oily nature it can be hard to clean off without a good soap.
Ordan oil and Ordan mud are both very potent sources of heat and burns well, as long as you manage to get them burning. Ordan Oil can be mixed with some specific flowers to decrease its burning point. The mixed out ordan oil together with Ordan mud is a popular fuel for fires.
Refined Ordan Oil is a very potent fertilizer and used as a material in nature and healing based magic.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Ordan is oily and black. In its natural found form, the ordan soil, it is often about 50 percent ordan to other earth types. The ordan soil found is generally a dark brown color.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Ordan is not flammable unless mixed with some other materials, but it do burn well if lit and keeps burning on its own, very much like timber.

Ordan Soil can be found in high valleys bewtwwen mountins on East Klint.

Trade & Market

Refined Ordan Oil and Ordan Soap are luxary goods sold by the Ordan Traders from Klint in markets in The East. From there different traders take the Ordan with them through The Holy Land to sell at a high price.

Law & Regulation

As Ordan Oil can be used to grow Ordana, which may be used as a drug, it is regulated in some parts of Lavera. The heaviest regulations are in The Holy Land as they in Klint and The East are not for regulations of Ordana and land further away do not have enough Ordana for it to be a problem.
