Elemental Pearls

Acquisition

Elemental pearls appear naturally in Lavera but may also be created artificially. They ocour when a higher amount of arcane enrgy is gathered at one point, this may be through spellcasting, the slow build-up from arcane flows or random spikes similar to lightning. They also occur where auras that prevent magic is present as the the prevented magic is forced into a smaller space.

Creating Elementals

By imbuing the pearls with ones own energy a skilled spellcaster could form the wild energy of the pearls into elementals. These elementals has no own will but was a constructs of the spellcasters that created them. To uphold the elemental form a longer time took lot of strain on a spellcaster and generally they were only used in battle. Once the concentration is lost on an elemental is disappears. The most common type of elemental to summon was mephits by combing two type of pearls.

Mephits are known to seek the pearls and eat them. It is said the reason they are so ugly is because they miss something in their soul. That something is the perfection of the pearls and they consume them to regian what they have lost. But as their emptiness is bottomless the hunger never ends and they are doomed to stay forever ugly.

Elemental Pearl

Wondrous Item These 1 inch diameter pearls are capsules of pure magical energy from one of the four elements. They come in five raitys, each one corresponding to a spell slot of 1st to 5th level.
You may activate one as a bonus action, until the start of your next turn, if you would cast a spell of the same element as the pearl you may use the pearl instead of a spell slot.
More than one pearl may be activated at the same time. For each two pearls that corresponds to the same spell level they together counts as a pearl corresponding to 1 higher level spell slot. The combining of pearls has no upper limit on spell slot levels they correspond to even if singular pearls at maximum can corresponf to a 5th level spell.
Pearls of different elements may be activated together but if they contribute with the same amount of spell slot levels each. If more than one elements of pearls is used the spell used may be from any of the elements of the pearls used.
After a pearl is expeded it turns into a non-magical stone marble.
