Session 2: The Griffon Report
General Summary
The party set off on their adventure with the road taking them through Uncass on their way to find the griffon egg. Before they could even enter the city, a guard offhandedly comments to stay safe, but Mercy drags the fact that a bought of poisoning has been taking place in the industrial city. They learned that the poisonings seemed to be happening by a cat and victims became pale and green in nature. As the party moved forward, they split up to go shopping. Cyrilla and Finlay headed to Frostbow's Anvil; an interaction that resulted in Finlay being kicked out and banned from returning. Mercy and Me'lug visited a kind and old Tortle, and purchased ingredients for the antidote, but not after questioning what he knew.
As Cyrilla and Finlay returned, the mysterious cat appeared on their walk back. Their fellow party members eventually joined them and in an attempt to capture the cat, Mercy cast sleep. Instead of having any effect on the cat, the cat only got angry and vanished into thin air. It was then that Mercy concluded that this cat must be a familiar, but Cyrilla was not convinced. After investigating, only very small pools of poison where the cat sat was recovered and collected. After an attempt to find the owner unsuccessfully, the party moved on.
Unable to make it to their final destination before nightfall, the party decides to stop at a Horned One Herd compound, and coincidentally stumbles across Lt. Vine Jungleherd visiting his family on leave. He offered to help the party on their mission, but he was turned down. The next day, Mercy gives the Lt. two vials of antidote to pass out on his way back to The Atithe Center in Uncass. They head out early the next morning.
While traveling, the party finally came up with their party's name: The Briar's Four. (TB4 for short, if referenced as such in the future.) Instead of going around, they decided to try to find a fishing boat to take them directly across Knowledge Lake to the Fountain of Knowledge. This is when TB4 stumbled across an old abandoned house where the bodies of two elves laid entwined in each other's arms. Me'lug decided to put the pair to rest, while Cyrilla discovered the deed to the house under Mercy's request. When they returned to Citadelis, the party decided to possibly try to get the deed transferred to themselves at Town Hall. However, as they discussed this, a sound of a griffon was heard.
After an easy tracking, the party was ready to take the eggs when they were spotted. Divebombing them, the...
