Novan, Balance (No-van)

OVERVIEW

Known to exemplify balance in its entirety, Novan is both beautiful and ugly. Young and old. Kind and evil. She is everything and the other half, all at once. Creating Launtrel as a form of rebellion against the Seelie and Unseelie courts, she initially planned on Launtrel being open for all for eternity. But less than a hundred years after its creation, she shut the borders for good with no explanation. For a short time, she led Launtrel and held court frequently with the other Arch-Fey. She chose all of them to represent the virtues she believed completed the idea of Balance. The realm prospered for years under her rule, and time slowly wore off the newness and it eventually just became, normal. For centuries she held balls with respected members of all regions, held audience with the bravest, and showed no mercy to the wicked. But one day... It all ceased. Clouds erupted from the grounds around her beautiful tower and palace, permanently sheltering her from the rest of the realm, or perhaps the realm from her. For longer than anyone has been alive now, she has been missing. Stories of her have been told down from generation to generation, but nobody no longer truly knows her as they once have or why she disappeared. Countless have tried to find her to no avail and her palace has remained guarded and distant. Most of the Arch-Fey have lost hope of return, while others share her stories as a means of inspiration for her to one day rule Launtrel as she did before.
