About the DM

GREETINGS!

Hello, and welcome to Launtrel! My name is Caitlyn or Zimxter, and I am your local all-knowing being of Launtrel and your DM. I wanted to do a quick article about myself so you may get to know me a little bit before starting a campaign. I am a woman of 24 years old living near Montville, CT. I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons 5e for about 3 years now ever since my husband, Mason, introduced me to it. However, I am not new to worldbuilding or role playing. Since I was 9, I have been involved in many forum RPs, fiction writing, LARPs, and theater. Naturally, DnD was an easy transition for me. Horror has always been a favorite theme of mine, particularly psychological horror. Hell, I started a psychology degree because of this. Sadly, this dream was swiftly abandoned to pursue my Business Degree. But even so, I have never stopped writing psychological horror. When my husband introduced me to the TTRPG 'Call of Cthulhu' my world was complete. I love the idea of mixing the fantasy of DnD with Lovecraftian themes to create something both epic and scary.
Despite the slightly concerning themes my mind comes up with, I am a huge advocate for mental health. To me, DnD was and still is, and escape from the real world. Actually, my former therapist told me to even consider it therapy! With that excuse, I continued on. I am here for anyone going through a hard time, and my DMs are always open. Please do not hesitate to reach out!

Aside from DnD and worldbuilding, I have way too many hobbies. I also RP on a warrior cat's forum and have been on this site since I was 9 years old. Sometimes, its fun being a silly little cat. Sewing is another hobby I have loved and desperately need to return to. If I am playing a video game, it's probably World of Warcraft. (Absolutely loved/loving Dragonflight, by the way) My husband and I are also passionate about starting our own homestead and producing most of our own food. Our first step towards this was our Rabbitry. We currently have 4 keeper does, 2 keeper bucks, and a few rabbits that either may be food or stick around for a little longer. The breeds we raise our Rex and Americans, and we pride ourselves on giving them a good life except one day and using every part of them. In the spring, we will start raising quail and our garden. When we can, my husband and I indulge in a paranormal hunt so yes, I am a paranormal investigator.

In addition to our rabbits, we have 2 cats and a snake. My oldest cat, Boo, is a grey tabby. Spooky, my youngest, is a spunky tortie. (Her full name is Spooky Scary Skeletons). We have a common colored corn snake named Phoenix!
