Melazcar Kingdom
Melazcar is a kingdom encompassing the cape on the southern tip of Somerii. To the north is the Timbic mountain range, closing it off from the mainland. Most of the kingdom is high above the water, with steep cliffs encircling it from the east and west. These cliffs continue along the south as well, leaving the city of Usfay separated from the rest by altitude, itself close to sea level, and the port of the kingdom. Through the heart of the kingdom runs a river and its feeders, which together provide the hydroelectric power that the kingdom primarily runs on.
The area boasts a seemingly permanent springtime temperature year-round, several lakes in the area, and lots of rain. Tall reeds and lively green trees fill the landscape, with the forest between Camboon and Effelaimie vibrant and bursting with life.
Though the kingdom is known for being peaceful, its first king to settle it is said to have followed The Devourer, and prepared the kingdom to be able to go to war to control more and more of the continent. This king swore to The Devourer absolute fealty to the cause to have the city grow prosperous, and prosperous it did grow, all in turn for loyalty to the god. However, it was not long before the first King was killed, and his son, who did not follow The Devourer, rose to power. Believing vehemently that the god was wrong and a danger, he wrote into law the city would not follow that god, neither in spirit or in practice, banning any worship of the god for fear of being ousted and kicked out. However, The Devourer was not so easily pushed out of a territory, and it is said that they cursed the city, that in 1111 years the families of their most loyal followers that had been kicked out would return with pieces of The Devourer's power, and would destroy the kingdom.
Its current king, King Conrad, is seen as rather weak, but still liked by his people. He has continued the work of his father, who made statues in all the primary townships which are supposed to protect the kingdom from the destruction everyone fears. Since finishing the statues, he has holed himself away in his castle, unseen by anyone, and is said to be finishing whatever magic and work is needed to make those statues continue to protect the kingdom forever from the terror of apocalypse.
Because The Devourer is associated with ash as well as destruction, flame, and conquest, the Melazcar kingdom quickly adopted a strong following for Shealam, and has certain taboos against the color gray. Makeup is quite popular in the city to keep skin looking bright and healthy, and the buildings across the kingdom are colorful. Most builldings are made of pastel bricks, and the cities are filled with oft-cleaned streets to keep the grime from turning the area too dull looking. Cleaning jobs are considered rather highly, given relative priority and looked upon with respect. Even within its smaller communities, this penchant for bright colors is everywhere.
Within its cities, even areas of relative poverty are made sure to have electric stoves, and people are kept off the streets with healthy protective measures. Soup kitchens are kept stocked, and there are numerous safe heated buildings where people can sleep. Within smaller towns and villages, there is still a distinct effort to keep these things true, though it may come more in the form of people welcoming neighbors to their meal.
This kingdom pimarily follows Shealam and Pida.
Usfay: While secluded to the rest of the kingdom with the cliffs separating it from most of the land, has always been a happy and bustling fishing port. The 200 foot water wheel that juts out of the cliffside is its most prominent landmark, frequently used by locals and tourists alike to navigate the city. Below the wheel is the cave entrance for the path up to the rest of the kingdom. Now no longer allowing boats outside of those from Melazcar, trade has been stifled and left the people anxious.
Effelaimie: A town most notable for its robust soil and excellent crops, and fantastic food-- to say, rather unnotable to most-- for whom the heat has been higher than usual in the area, with crops suffering for it and farmers in distress.
Shena: A city that was thriving on the edge of the kingdom, but after a strange curse seems to have been placed upon it turning things grayer instead of the brightly colored gaities of most of the kingdom, it has been given fewer and fewer resources from the king, under the assumption they are doing something dark to bring this coloration. In better times, Shena is a city known for its more high class exports, being a city known for good alcohol, exceptional fashion, and its expertly woven "seamesh", made by its renowned cliffweavers.
Moki: Usually, this mining town brings in resources from the mountains that it butts up to, and is considered the most gruff and militaristic of cities in the kingdom-- though not unkindly so. Many of its dwellings were built right into the mountainside, and many people from other cities come here to become better warriors. This is the primary source of people for the militias across the kingdom. However, strangely, their local military has disappeared without a trace.

Notable Townships
Camboon: The central city and home of the king, and the largest city by far, sits at a population of a busy 32,000. While the entire kingdom has generally gone on lockdown and has closed its borders to outsiders, this city's walls are now under heavy guard, with people not let in nor out, save for Newstorians and traders from within the kingdom with official and up to date papers.Usfay: While secluded to the rest of the kingdom with the cliffs separating it from most of the land, has always been a happy and bustling fishing port.
