Simkar

While sharing a common catlike traits, such as retractable claws, long tails, pointy moveable ears, fur covered bodies, whiskers and sharp teeth, these feline humanoids show a wide mix of different fur colors and patterns, heights, members lengths and hair size, color and lushness of their whiskers or on the hairs of their ears and heads. All of which frequently is taken as a sign or proof by the clerics of the Simkar, that they are the chosen or, indeed, even created by Sherigeera, the god of beasts, ferocity, cunning and freedom.
Despite all the uniqueness they display, their bonds as a race are clear. All of them can purr and also roar intimidatingly. To the point of being known for how loud they can issue commands on battle or aboard ships or allegedly being able to freeze opponents in place, full of fear.
Originating from the Waihonmwelê continent, the smallest of Lantartia, they sport one of the less mixed populations in the world. This is mostly the result of the geographic isolation that spared them from the mass migrations of the Eras past.
The race present a strong sense of honor and community, similar to the dwarves. But unlike them, this doesn’t come with expectations of giving up some of your individual wishes for the needs of the clan or of self sacrifice or abstinence in any form. Rather than that, they incentivize individual agency, believing that being out in the world is the best teacher a young adult can have and the best way to acquire self knowledge. All the while they trust the young will remember their origins and return to contribute back to the clan when the time comes. In this sense the individual’s feats of greatness strengthens the clan’s reputation and honor, instead of their personal merit depending on the history and approval of the clan.
