Giants

Giantkind cultures are dominated by origin myths. A bunch of them contradict each other on several points. The only safe exception is the significance they attribute to the spiritual connection they make between physical size and the purity of one’s soul. They call this “Elentment”, from which the world element derived from, so they say. That’s no surprise, since they point at their diversity of hair and skin colors, along the typical elemental powers that match them as living proof of this philosophical view.
Scholars wrote that this belief rose to prominence in the current giant communities probably as the result of social healing and coping mechanisms to hide the ancient brutality amongst themselves and smaller folks populations. Or to justify an expansionistic worldview and greed for power. Be it as it may, it’s certain that this guides the social structure of The Ordering and serves both to justify the social castes among themselves and to keep them content within their borders. The fact that their lands are permeated by animals, plants and monsters of much larger size than in any other lands enhances this current sociopolitical stand, as they feel blessed to inhabit such a fitting area, with plenty of resources. And leaving in great numbers is logistically very challenging.
Giants today express rich cultures full of art and study of the natural and mystical forces on the world, such as how or why some magic spells have varying effects depending on the size of the target, while others do not vary. This also informs their intrinsically spiritual ways, encouraging meditation to achieve self perfection and the domain of the elements as a sign of balance and strength.
