The Age of the Varn
The Age of the Varn is an era lasting about 2000 years, during which Erdos was greatly influenced by the Varn. It is also known as the Golden Age. It began with the creation of the Planar Seal and concluded with the War of the Varn and the initiation of the current callendar era: After Varn (AV).
The Age of the Varn is noted for its global adoption of the Prime Discipline (which meant that mortals no longer worshiped gods), and staggering advances in magical science, which in turn led to hitherto unmatched standards of living for the inhabitants of the world. Vital to this was the invention of magifactories and the formation of the Grand Guilds.
The most powerful mechana in Erdos today, are relics from that age, many of them still hidden in ancient vaults.
