Varnianism

Once called the Prime Discipline during the Age of the Varn, Varnianism is a secular philosophy based on the tenet that mortals should use logic and independent morality to guide their actions instead of the arbitrary commands of the gods. For two thousand years, it was the dominant philosophy of the world. After the Fall of the Varn and the return of the gods, varnianism’s influence has receded though not vanished.
Varnianism is normally not a philosophy that despises the deities, in fact it holds that they should be respected, being the mighty cosmic entities that they are. However, worship of the gods is antithetical to the teachings of Varnianism which holds the secular as sacred and mortal agency as paramount. As a result, established churches despise Varnianism though they mostly tolerate it.
Monks are more likely to follow Varnianism than worshiping a god.
