Jobay

Ahh, it is as beautiful as told. Kinds, remember what I've told you: Do not eat the sand!

Travellers from near and far flock to the bay as the summer nears thanks to its unusually warm water and beautiful sand beach.

Nearby villages have started capitalising on this fact and made accomodations for all of the travellers, with taverns, plenty of places to sleep in comfort and with enough farmland to sustain the population.

This has had two effects on Jobay. The first one is that the area surrounding Jobay has become rather worn, and the second is that the sand has become significantly less pristine.

An effect on the surrounding area has been that it essentially becomes a ghost village during winter, with almost none of the buildings being inhabited.

Glasseye outbreak

After a blood moon the eyes of young children started to harden into glass. Eventually a physician figured out that it was because they were eating the sand. There is no cure for this condition, called Glasseye, so whenever people visit they are sure to be reminded that the sand should not be eaten.
