The death of Emperor Fridrik Harald at the hands of hands of his high steward.

Emperor Harald lived a storied life, which served as a tale of horror for those around him. The man was wicked before and during his career, which never should have come to fruition in the first place, given he was the second born child. After spending his years personally tormenting the lower class and pushing those around him into depraved behavior, he was finally silenced by his high steward. Being the brother of Emperor Harald's bride to be, it's no surprise the steward murdered the emperor after learning of his sister's brutal slaughter during an argument with Fridrik.   While the madman's death lifted a weight off of the Saltkrigere Empire, no appreciation would be spared for the killer, who was executed less than a week later. In the following weeks, the Fridrik's younger brother declined the ascension to emperor, wishing to stay in Shellbay for the health of the family. The court would hold a vote to select the successor, with many notable names coming up (including two council members, three court members, and the current Saltkrigere General).   The final vote was a tie between Johanna Evasdottir and Lucas Nielsen. A short campaign was held in order to turn the votes, which saw Johanna gaining 3 more than Lucas, resulting in her ordination as 4th emperor of the Saltkrigere Empire.
