The discovery of the Kaban by the Thanid spies, followed by their elimination and enslavement by the Tara-Jhen.

After a months of searching, the Thanids found the Kaban, lingering in a northwestern Quai territory. They had set up in an old abandoned village, Vhan Daegar, which was originally built by Thanids. The Thiff forces in Pell Eli (old Ravahinas) were informed of their lingerings before an enthusiastic force formed to attack the nomads. The element of surprise was used to get the jump on them before any of them could disappear. The new chosen people still seemed quite inexperienced with the workings of the deity which would make the assault all the easier.    Those that seemed the most experienced were targeted, being pelted with arrows. As sluggish (and cowardly) as the Kaban were at the time, many of the younger retreated into their shells while the older tried their best to waddle over the dry lands and escape, but they were quickly caught.    They seemed to have congregated most of the species that existed throughout the great marsh at the time, leaving about 200 living Kaban total. As many as 50 were killed in the assault, and the rest were captured, restrained in such a way that they could not exit their shells. They were kept well away from the Quai so that they could not harness it before being shipped back to Thiff (on the ships the humans had provided in their treaty, something that was finally being put to use). The Kaban would be broken, mentally and physically, and turned into slaves. Their servitude would last for most of written history, only having ended within the last 100 years or so.     By the time these individuals were captured, the Thanids had long set sail. The small group that remained would travel north of the continent on foot, hoping to leave their troubled past behind. What came of this group is unknown to this day.
