The advancement of platoons from Eldurgrund into the Marsh after the discovery of easily accessible gold and iron in the region.

After a few travelers had made claims of ready-dug mines on the Mot D'nir border, Eldurgrund miners went to investigate. Once there was a confirmation, enough troops and civilians were relocated to begin a small mining town, which is now known as Augur's End. At the time, the people named it Jerborg.   As growth continued, the local Tara-Jhen and Naga-Tel became frustrated with their involvement in the region, as some of the caverns overlapped with their territory, often used for nesting. Some regions even held Quai, which received damage from the humans' tinkering. Eventually, their exploits ended in disaster, with massive portions of the caves collapsing, resulting in the towns below the mountains suffering damage as well. The Tara-Jhen and Naga-Tel had hoped this was the end of their tinkering, so they told the people of Jerborg that they had one chance to retreat from their city and go back to Eldurgrund. Unfortunately, new stretches of mountains were found to the East, which would be the seat of a new town. this new town, Gullivegur, would eventually become Goldwalk.   The refusal of the humans to back down, particularly as Eldurgrund began to increase its military power, worried the people of Mot D'nir greatly. The Tara-Jhen would unleash multiple assaults against the two cities, but even the Quai would not be enough to win them those battles.
