Snow Rock Isles fail to claim ownership over Fjordstrond

The mass destruction of a Snow Rock fleet going towards Shellbay by new megafauna in the Orphi Gap.

After much debate between The Islands Five and Shellbay regarding whether or not Fjordstrond would be directly subservient to Shellbay itself or the Snow Rock Isles, Shellbay declared that they would oversee every aspect of Fjordstrond's development. The Snow Rocks responded hastily. They sent a large fleet, leftovers from Hamish's order, to bring proper law to Shellbay.   This escapade did not go well. Unexpectedly, while traveling the gap, there seemed to be a great pushback from the wildlife of the Gap. Two of the eighty ships survived, and only because they lagged behind. Their reports spoke of "vast arms that blot out the sun" which cut through several ships in one whip. Others mentioned "great shells which pushed the ships over, swimming through them as if they themselves were watermade."   The fleet had been the plan of a massive offense, and the complete loss would be felt greatly by the Snow Rocks. The dangers of these megafauna, likely brought on by the calming of the storms in the Gap, are still problematic today. Crossing the Gap today is limited to small fleets, as too large may summon sensitive beasts of the deep.
