The collapse of humanity's control over territory as a result of the Starfall Rupture.

With the cloud of ash bringing winter and death, it didn't take long for all of Trinen to be claimed by the comet. Much of the blame is put on Verivem using dark powers to suppress civilization, but it is officially unknown whether or not he intended for this.   With much of Eldurgrund, Fjordstrond, Shellbay, Jerborg, and Gullivegur's food sources failing, they began to rely on reserves, but they were poorly prepared for the sudden disaster. Famine spread quickly and faith dwindled as many would turn to worship the Ithitar, as the gods seemed to fail them. Verivem would be a large subject of worship, but established governments often forcefully removed or executed individuals who were caught worshipping Verivem.   As the major cities isolated themselves, the villages outside their walls had to fend for themselves, and many would be lost. This gave way for Warlords across Trinen to gain power and establish territory over the years.   When winter came, Fjordstrond was best prepared, being fishermen in an already frigid region. A few months into the disaster, the people of the city would try to establish a connection with Vestergil, the Cloud in the Icelends, hoping he would provide some protection against the rising warlords.
