Major Rojan Emigration

The first substantial Rojan emigration as a result of the Renad-pai Relief Act.

After centuries of slowly applying pressure to Roja, Kala would find the error in its financial ways. With gradual tax increases in precious metals and associated products, Kala initially blamed the Council of Roja for hoarding funds and causing the state of the labor force. These claims proved true initially, but after a proper redistribution of wealth, the problem persisted. Many claim that the only thing that prevented the malcontents from taking the council by force was the sea between them, but the nation's leaders hardly had a say in their own financial woes.   Given Kala's increased military capability over the centuries, the Council of Roja feared what breaking the relief act may bring to their land. As a result, strikes in the Renad-Pai labor force saw as many as 38% of laborers strike, while 14% allegedly fled the nation, seeking work abroad. The majority of emigrations went undocumented, but it is theorized that most went to Eldurgrund.   When prices skyrocketed and the flow of goods stopped, taxes were renegotiated, and the Council of Roja was coerced into handing power over to a replacement council, who would display "increased capability of confronting their foreign partners."
