The Serpent

The Serpent (sometimes called the metaphysic streak) was a significant part of human culture until The Silence  when the Company of Fools sealed every tear within The Ohkinate Web. While legends about this entity remain, stories have run rampant ever since Laminarum's place within the universe has come into question.   The Serpent, in human myth, was an entity that tricked Ornjack into giving away eggs to spread his brood into the greater universe. As time went on, the Serpent's purpose became dubious as the eggs grew corrupted and vile (ancient human religions believe these to be the spawn of elves and reptilians). When Ornjack grew wise as to the corruption that took place, a great battle began; unfortunately, the Serpent knew not of the Ohkinate's great power and fell to his web. When the creature became one with the web, its vile countenance would leave a nearly permanent imperfection in Laminarum. This hole would grant access to devils, demons, and Uthuquate for centuries until the Web could be repaired by the Company. Many think that the storms within the Orphi Gap are a result of this hole, but none can say for sure.
The Serpent's Being
Original Snow Rock texts leave few details as to the nature of the beast. Modern interpretations claim the Serpent to be an Uthuquate, as they present themselves as the antithesis to the Ohkinate. Should the theories be true, the Serpent may be one of the most intellectual and understandable Uthuquate in history, similar to Heien.
Other views claim that it may have been an Ithitar due to its manipulative nature, which lends itself to the religion of the Augury with a decreased emphasis on the Uthuquate
