Governor
The title of governor is held by rulers of Eldurgrund. The title was dug up from the old state of Astania by the Augury and would replace the standardized title of baron in the region (which was intended as both an insult and punishment). The official differences between the roles, as implemented by the The Augury, is the insistence of 3 imperial consultants taking charge of interterritorial and military operations. While every territory has consultants from the Augury at any given time, it is not mandatory for them to overtake any operations.
Appointment
The appointment of a governor, unlike barons, is decided by a moot upon the death of the previous governor. Often, this will lead to a family member of the prior governor being selected.
Responsibilities
All matters of politics and military are handled by the governor and his establishment, while an appointed council in the Monastic Order of the Eldursteries handles matters of culture and religion.
