Consumption

Consumption, unlike its real life counterpart, is regarding those who are lost within the realm of the Quai. What happens to them are unknown, but one can become lost in different ways. 
Staying in the Quai until death by natural causes (hunger, dehydration, exhaustion). The body will remain in the realm of the Quai, as one must be alive to travel the barrier between the realms. Some high status Tara-Jhen have been known to request being brought to the realm when they are near their death. Most who worship it ask to be buried within the Quai territory of Laminarum.
Traveling between the Mot D'nir and Shellbay territory. This could extend to travel between any location too far separated from Mot D'nir, but this is unconfirmed.
A Quai allegiance change while within the realm of the Quai. This has occurred to vast numbers over time, most substantially during a pinnacle migration date when the Quai selected Arniel Kane.
Burning of a Quai territory while within its corresponding Quai Realm location. If you are in the realm of the Quai that inhabits the same physical space as Bito Ri, and the Bito Ri Quai is burned down, then you will be consumed.
What happens to those who are consumed is entirely unknown.
