The plague of Casrea

One of the most atrocious acts of the shadow legion is when they plagued and destroyed the city of Casrea and half of Rena. Death washed over the entire empire as it collapsed into nothing but corpses and undead. Nobody could escape the grasp of The Creeping Shadow.

The city of Casrea stood tall and proud once as the largest and most successful city to ever be built on Laeriss. Now image that beautiful city covered in corpses, shambling zombies, tormented spirits, dirt the color of soot, and trees with bark like brittle charcoal. This was the result of the plague known as The Creeping Shadow, unleashed in Casrea on one night in 5531 during Wasteblight, the sixteenth month of the Laeran calendar. A mass sacrifice of an entire city and half a continent just a day before the solstice. This sacrifice was enough to finally tip the scales of power and allow for Shraenire to leave the nine hells and re-enter the prime material plane.
