Mt. Colossus

Mount colossus is the tallest mountain on all of Laeriss, at its top is a rift of planar magic allowing inter-planar travel even after the gods made it nearly impossible. Mount colossus floats in the Irī triangle between Derolis and Xalia. It lies on top of no sky contient of its own and instead floats alone in the sky devoid of anything after the steep slope dropping off the face of the island. The island is split into four different sections each with their own mini peak, lesser mountain, eerie mountain, brutal mountain, higher mountain, though lesser mountain is the only one which can sustain flora due to the extreme altitude and northern location of mount colossus. Very few know about the existence of mount colossus out in the sky, while most scholars have heard of its existence from before the split the large amount of Arcane flux around it has stopped any person from getting close enough to fully make out the great mass. Few sentient creatures reside on the mountain but many monsters do, though it is home to a majority of the giant population and has been their ancient home since their birth onto Laeriss. A tribe of goliaths also resides on the mountain, many goliaths seek their homeland within the skies but few ever find it and none return to tell the tale.

Lesser Mountain

The lesser mountain of mount colossus is the shortest and least steep of the four mountain parts. It is the only section of the mountain with trees or shrubs, since every other part is far too cold to sustain plants. The magical mound of lesser mountain is home to all manner of earth elementals and earth element related creatures. The most common types of giant are hill and stone giants.

Eerie Mountain

The eerie mountain is covered in mist and fog, rivers run down from the high points of the mountain in twisting patterns down to its base. The eerie mountain is always covered in deep sleet and frozen sheets which were once liquid rivers or lakes. Eerie mountain is the second highest of the four parts of the mountain and is home to water and ice elemental creatures, it also has the second most gentle incline. The most common type of giant is frost giant and it is home to one of the two main goliath tribes on the mountain.

Brutal Mountain

The brutal mountain is dangerous and unwelcoming as the name would imply. Brutal mountain is volcanic though does not have a proper vent at its peak, it has many smaller mouths and openings all along the side of the section which spew streams of molten rock and smoke. The rocks of brutal mountain are jagged and rough, avalanches constantly rain down and the slopes are extremely intense. There is snow on parts of the mountain but as you reach closer to the lava streams it slowly transitions into black soot, the rocks of brutal mountain are noted as having a reddish hue. Fire elemental monsters reside all over the steep cliffs and the most common types of giant are. fire giants and there is a tribe of reddish-skinned "granite" goliaths. Reddish-skinned "granite" stone giants are commonly indentured to servitude of the fire giants on the mountain.

Higher Mountain

Higher mountain is the tallest and coldest of the four parts of mount colossus. It reaches far above the clouds into the sky and is extremely cold. The air is so thin that one who is not prepared for the high altitudes will quickly acquire altitude sickness and die in the cold. The white dragon Hykorek resides in a massive icy cave within the mountain side, using a group of adapted kobolds who've developed greater resilience and strength on the frigid mountain peak as her minions. Air and lightning elementals are some of the only other creatures living on the mountain since they are some of the few monsters who can survive the extreme altitude. The most common types of giants are cloud giants and above the very peak of the mountain is the great storm palace of the storm giants. Legends also say that even above the storm palace is the great titan of mount colossus named Aeserog, last of his kind, who resides in the highest clouds of Laeriss.
