Falem

Falem is a small village on Falem Mountain, in the attack of Falema college it was almost destroyed but has managed to scrape by. It is still in recovery and many people with ties to the destroyed Falema college still remain there, trying to find books or the bodies of their loved ones within the ruins. Before the town was destroyed it mostly contained students and sometimes their families as well, while it was not the target in the attack of Falema college by the Drow, it still sustained serious damage after the attack. Although many left after the battle many still stay there, trying to rebuilt what was damaged and reopen the college in the future.

Demographics

The town of Falem was once mostly made up of High Elves studying at Falema college and their visiting families. It is still made up of mostly High elves, but much fewer as the college is destroyed and most of the students who went there have died.

Government

Falem Mountain and the things that are on it, are a controlled territory of the Ilkasias Republic, even though the mountain itself is far away from the main body of the fairly small republic. There is only one high government official in the entire small town of Falem, the overseer of Falem. They are responsible for taxation, enforcing laws, and updating the main body of the government in Frostlance of what's going on.

Defences

Falem is fairly isolated from the rest of the world, so it does not have extremely strong defences. Its walls are only partial and are only made out of intricately carved wood, it only has a few defense towers scattered around, and its law enforcement force is limited.

Industry & Trade

Falem mainly makes its money from a few local lumber-mills, the funds given to it by Falema college and the government of the Ilkasias Republic, and the things brought to the town by students coming from all around.

History

The town of Falem was created after the creation of Falema college when it started expanding more and more and the original headmasters realized that they would need more places for people to live. They decided that it was necessary to create a new small town around the college where the students going there could live, eat, and work. The college and surrounding town of Falem were prosperous for thousands of years up until the seige of Falema college when the Drow army tore through Falem, killing most of the people who were working there. Few people still have hope for the recovery of the town or the college, so now Falem has less than fifty people maintaining it.

Architecture

Falem is a very simple and small town, the buildings are mainly built out of wood from the nearby boreal forest with their supports and frames made out of impure Snowstone.

Natural Resources

Essentially the only available natural resource of Falem Mountain is the wood from the forests. The lumber buisness makes up the majority of Falem's limited buisness.
