Drow

The Drow are a sub-race of Elf with dark, ashy skin and pale hair, they are sometimes called dark elves. The Drow live underground in the underdark and often have bright red eyes, they are very sensitive to light. They worship the god Narsta, who's domain is all thats deep, dark, and dank. The drow are quite violent by nature and while some drow break this pattern and are more friendly, these few good drow are often discriminated against because of the precedent set by the rest of their kind. The drow people have been at war with the High elves for many years, fighting over complete control of the western Zerion Mountains, such as the Hallorak Mountains, Ilkasias Peaks, and Falem Mountain. While the drow reside in the underdark underneath the mountains, the High elves live above, on the top of the mountains. Since the drow are usually quite reclusive unless they have an agenda in mind, they don't like people coming into the underdark and built The Undergate to bar intruders from entering.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

The culture of the drow is mostly based in violence and bloodshed, drow society is a merciless place where all that matters is having the most wealth and power. Drow are taught how to fight from a young age since almost every drow in the underdark will eventually be killed by another drow at some point.

Shared customary codes and values

Most likely the biggest values of drow society are the ideas of survival of the fittest and the idea of the strongest being on top. The only rule is that one bows down to Narsta, if you are strong enough to kill, betray, or overthrow then you are implored to do so. Noble houses constantly fight with each other, vying for power and willing to do anything to get it.

Common Dress code

Drow wear a similar amount of clothing to most other average humanoids, covering up part of the arms, legs, and most of the torso and lower areas. As with most societies they do not simply walk around naked, most likely they would be assaulted if they did.

Art & Architecture

The architecture of a drow city is like nothing else on Laeriss. The buildings are made out of mineral and stone and fashioned into strange twisting shapes. Their architecture and art appears ghoulish and haunting to look at, containing no shortage of black in their colors.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Since drow die so often by assassination or murder they do not celebrate funerals or do anything for the dead, as those who have died are simply seen as too weak to have survived and natural selection is just taking its course in their eyes.

Gender Ideals

Drow society is matriarchal and females are the ones in power. Priestesses of Narsta are very revered and powerful, having more power than anybody else in drow society.

Major organizations

As the drow people live almost entirely in the under dark, they are all under The Akabis Realm. Since most drow also worship Narsta, The Infernal Denomination and church of Narsta is also very powerful.
