Dar' Rak' Da is the homeland city of the chromatic Dragon born people. The technology of Dar' Rak' Da rises far above anything found within the main continents of Laeriss. It is a sprawling metropolis of wonders and technologies where the architecture is beautiful and the buildings rise into the sky. The massive colosseum of Dar' Rak' Da houses hundreds of fights between powerful warriors every year. Airships big and small transport people and cargo through out the city via docks stationed across the sprawling expanse. On the outside and for most even on the inside, it seems like a perfect city of unity and order. Though deep within the tallest towers at its heart, horrible schemes are devised by the highest priests of Tor. They kill and remove, destroy and kill, yet cover it up with masterful skill so that they seem on the side of justice. While the people are told that the fighters in the colosseum are willing contestants, they are mostly comprised of those who accidentally saw too much and now must battle for the amusement of Kasaeos. For those who stay in line, Dar' Rak' Da is the perfect utopia, but for those who threaten the order promised by the greater church or attempt to change what they do not like, they will endure a city which is a hell worse than any slum. One of the biggest tickets for a citizen of the city to be disposed of, is arguing for the rights, freedom, or less-harsh treatment of the enslaved Thri-keen and Gnolls. The city is also much less of a utopia for the metallic Dragon born citizens, who see the evils of the metropolis and go missing much faster than their chromatic counterparts. For this reason most metallic Dragon born know to try to stay clear of Dar' Rak' Da, instead choosing to live in other Dragon born settlements like the city of Fermeas.

Demographics

Dar' Rak' Da is nearly entirely comprised of Dragon born. Though the chromatic Dragon born of the upper city harshly treat their indentured gnoll servants. While the gnoll are cruel creatures, their treatment by the Dragon born can be extremely vicious. The thri-kreen are also servants of the Dragon born, but are treated better and usually serve as maids, cleaners, or possess other menial jobs. Metallic Dragon born are a minority in the city and are usually much poorer than the chromatic Dragon born of the city.

Government

Dar' Rak' Da' is almost entirely run by the king of the Dragon born, Bahklarask Djenarilaxodis, an honorable but callous red Dragon born. He has the power to make any decision, though his wishes are carried out by the five high priests of Tor. When Bahklarask dies the five high priests of Tor will fight over the favor of Tor to decide the new king. This battle for the great vote of Tor often results in extreme political discourse and bloodshed, though the church of Tor tries to put on a good face for the city so most do not know about the fighting that ensues and assume that Tor chooses the new king from the start.

Defences

The city of Dar' Rak' Da is completely wrapped around by a huge metal and stone wall embroidered with gold. Massive Voltcannons built on top of the walls shoot beams of Masalik Energy over a mile long. The force of Tor enforces the law using guns which shoot bullets launched at blinding speeds by Masalik Energy.

Industry & Trade

Dar' Rak' Da has almost no industry whatsoever outside of its own walls. While many things are manufactured and sold within the city, extremely little comes from outside since there are few settlements across Zaquii and the other major city of Fermeas is on bad terms with Dar' Rak' Da.

Infrastructure

Airship stations cover all of Dar' Rak' Da and the technological systems the city relies on are extremely advanced. Magical sewers, fountains, lights, and other Masalik Energy powered mechanisms encompass the entire city. Masalik Energy producers also dot the great metropolis and provide power for the whole city.

Assets

The city of Dar' Rak' Da is the home of nearly all the Ektenum processors and Masalik Energy on Laeriss. Advanced weapons, mechanisms, and inventions unlike any others originate from the city. Hoards of gold from the Kar' Karak Desert are stored all across the city and the gold is commonly used to build all sorts of things and decorations everywhere.

Guilds and Factions

Dar' Rak' Da is essentially entirely controlled by the churches of Tor, they decide everything that happens and have all the power.

The Osorean Church

The Osorean church is the church of the white dragon. The Osorean church is often the most violent and ruthless of the five churches of Dar' Rak' Da. The Osorean high priests are often known to do anything for the seat of king of the Dragon born. The Osorean kings of Dar' Rak' Da are known to put ruthless laws in place with little thought for morality.

The Uroneas Church

The Uroneas church is the church of the blue dragon.

The Yezvelre Church

The Pakaren Church is the church of the red dragon.

The Kakteas Church

The Kakteas church is the church of the black dragon.

History

Dar' Rak' Da is built onto the ruins of the old Dar' Rak Da from thousands of years ago. In the war between the two heads of Tor, Oradon, queen of metallic dragons, and Kasaeos, king of chromatic dragons, the ancient city of Dar' Rak' Da was destroyed and rebuilt mainly by the church of Kasaeos. The church of Oradon meanwhile, left to live in the Ikra' Nar Mesa and created the city of Fermeas. Originally when Dar' Rak' Da was smaller the only government was the Dragon born king himself and the only church was the church of Tor. As Dar' Rak' Da grew the church of Tor split into five churches with five high priests.

Architecture

Dar' Rak' Da is made up of very tall geometric buildings. The often cubular or rectangular buildings get taller as you reach the center of the city. All the buildings are meant to emanate a sense of beauty, unity, order, and perfection in the fact that every building in the city must be built with an orange-gold type of brick. Each part of every building must be perfectly carved and sanded to give the sense of perfection that the greater church of Kasaeos desires for their utopia.

Geography

Dar' Rak' Da is built onto the eastern edge of the Kar' Karak Desert, which is completely flat and lacking in large elevation differences.

Natural Resources

The city is built directly onto a massive hoard of gold, underneath Dar' Rak' Da is a sprawling expanse of gold rich land which is almost entirely untapped by the Dragon born of the city. The one-tenth of the gold which has already been dug up is enough to on its own to make Dar' Rak' Da "The Golden City"
