Blade of Shraenire

The blade of Shraenire is a massive sword plunged into the Darklands of Laeriss during The Solstice of Shadows. Shraenire intended for the blade to completely destroy The World Core but instead it only split it, severing the continents of Laeriss into pieces and sending them into the sky. The blade is the seal for The singularity and without it plunged into the ground Shraenire would be free. Though only a great feat of epic magic equivalent to an 11th level spell could possibly open up the gate to The singularity and free Shraenire. This is the goal of The shadow legion who have built their fortress known as The Black Fortress around the base of the sword.

Purpose / Function

Originally the blade was created by Shraenire himself in order to execute his plan of destroying The World Core, in which he only partially succeeded. The gods used the blade against Shraenire in the end in order to seal him into The singularity.

Architecture

The blade itself of the blade of Shraenire is pure black and the handle is a dark silvery color. At the end of the handle is a bright glowing purple crystal which emanates corruption.

History

The blade was created by Shraenire while he was still trapped in the nine hells. As he grew in power he used the souls he collected and peoples energy who he'd make pacts with to add to the size and power of the blade. When Shraenire used the blade to kill Asmodeus it grew immensely more powerful. During The Solstice of Shadows the blade was plunged into Laeriss in a failed attempt to fully destroy The World Core, afterwards it was used against Shraenire by the gods to seal him into The singularity and keep him there. The land the blade was plunged into became the extremely corrupted Darklands after the split and The Black Fortress curves around about one-third around the outside of the blade, less than 100 meters from the entryway to The singularity itself, which is sealed off and can only be opened by an immensely powerful feat of epic magic, the goal of The shadow legion.
