Hark
General Information
Hark exists on the northern edge of the Iorveth Woodlands, and is the site of one of Hydenbur's greatest mistakes and attrocities. Early into Hydenbur's dominance of Dossil's west, Arch-Bishop Klaus Hark ordered an inquisition into the lands along the Iorveth Woodland's edge, which included the small settlement. The residents of Hark, which are predominantely elves, have never forgotten this act of aggression nor have they forgiven.Demographics
The people who live in this town split into two core categories: The elves and everyone else. The elves of Hark originally come from the Iorveth Woodlands, and are blessed with particularly long life even among other elves. As such these elves hold different beliefs to many of the inhabitants of Hydenbur who revere the The Twenty-Two first and foremost. The non-elf inhabitants of Hark are often ostricised for their difference and faith, though never outright antagonised.
The non-elves of Hark, however, are thought to be very friendly folk, often welcoming complete strangers into their homes and breaking bread with them. Some members of the elven community find this extremely distasteful however, as it reminds them of their own hospitality that was met with scorn and hatred.

Government
Hark is outwardly governed by the Hydenbur Hierocracy, with a Hierocracy building standing proudly in the town's centre. The elves of Hark however, due to their difference of faith, often retreat into the woods to discuss among themselves how best to approach town wide struggles.
This has lead to large gaps forming between the two communities and, in turn, has bred distrust between them also.

History
Upon the orders of Arch-Bishop Klaus Hark, the territory surrounding the Iorveth Woodlands and the core settlement to its north were invaded and claimed by the knights and crusaders of Hydenbur. This territory and settlement were named in his honour as punishment for the elves speaking out against the tenets of the Twenty-two, who they believed to be hypocritical in their very existence.
The elves have since reclaimed this land, and what little remained of their people after the crusaders razed their homes and destroyed large amounts of the woodlands that they held sacred. Some of the surviving elves formed guerrilla parties and began to terrorize the areas nearby. Due to this as well as the populace of Hydenbur fundamentally disagreeing with the decision to invade and attempt to destroy an entire civilization of people who had lived in that land far longer than any of them, the Arch-Bishop was deposed and summarily executed.

Geography
At the town's south lies the Iorveth Woodlands, the original home of the elves on Dossil. these woods are thought to be impenetrable by outsiders and rumors have circulated that those who wander in lose a part of themselves there and go mad soon after leaving.
