Merdendal

The smallest of the Banary Isles settlements, Merdendal sits on the eastern most inhabited island. It does not have a good port - ships must anchor out in an exposed location. This has limited the development of this small town. What it does have going for it is it's fishing. The reefs around Merendal are filled with fish. This abundance of seafood helps feed the the rest of the Banaries, as well as provide a truly home grown export for the islands. Most popular is the squid, which is caught in nets around the reef and dried then shipped all around Kyrnia. It is said that Banary squid is a favorite at the Imperial Court.
