Dragonborn

The Dragonborn were created thousands of years ago by the first Emperor of Kyrn, with the help of Anno, and several powerful dragons that consented to allow their blood to be used to create an army of warriors to fight back the Hordes of the Fallen. Since their creation, they have served the Empire in many capacities. While they can sometimes impose a frightening presence, they are well respected across Kyrn.

Civilization and Culture

History

Many of the Dragonborn that served the Empire in the beginning were granted lands and titles as payment for their dedicated and couragous services to the throne.​


​Each of the Dragonborn sub-races has a Duke that all the other Dragonborn report up through. That Duke or Duchess has lessor nobles reporting to them. The Order of Precedences for the Dragon-born is as follows:

  1. Emperor / Empress
  2. Imperial Princes / Princesses
  3. Arch-Duke of the Realm
  4. Duke / Duchess
  5. Count / Countess
  6. Viscount / Viscountess
  7. Baron / Baroness
  8. Marquis / Marquess
  9. Knight / Dame

Dragonborn titles are are heriditary, but if someone does not live up to the expectations of the post, it is expected that they will do the honorable thing and step down so another family member can continue on. If there are no family members capable of the duties, then the Arch-Duke and the Imperial Family decide on a replacement. It has only happened a few times, and the disgrace for the family removed from rank is tremendous. Titles are also earned, so marriage to a rank does not confer that rank (i.e. A female Dragonborn marrying a Count, will not become a Countess unless she earns that rank on her own. She will carry the honorific of "Lady", but not the title. The same goes for the children, even the eventual heir will only be referred to as Lord or Lady until them assume the rank after the passing of a parent.

Dragonborn gain advantage on any interaction rolls with government officials of Kyrn.
