The Sunless Council

The Sunless Council is a renowned and feared Assassin's Guild that operates in the shadows, executing their missions with unparalleled precision and anonymity. Whispers of their existence send shivers down the spines of even the most powerful individuals, for they are the masters of silent death, striking from darkness and fading into obscurity.
By many nations, for their willingness to take on any deed, they are considered to be insurgets, traitors and terrorists.

Structure

The Sunless Council is made up of a series of small cells, no larger than eight members, looseley connected by individual contacts, who, in turn make up their own cells. The loose conections make it difficult to connect members of the Council, but it is believed that there is a High Council that oversees the greater interest of the Council. A series of administrative staff oversee regional activities, delivering contracts through handlers.

Culture

Members of The Sunless Council are among the most elite guerilla combatants in the world. They abandon their families and renouce their countries, swearing complete loyalty to the Council, taking on innumerable aliases, wearing countless masks in pursuit of an uknown goal. While they will perform any deed, they adhere to a strict internal code with few rules:

• Complete any task provided to you by your handler

• Do not fail

• Do not ask questions to which you do not already know the answer

• Suffer not your life to be taken or controlled by a lesser being

• Hail Chelau

• To neglect these articles is to die

Public Agenda

As it is known in the kingdoms, the agenda of The Sunless Council is to divide the nations and to ensure that the no true alliance can be kept between them. On the orders of The Sunless Council, kings have died and artifacts have been destroyed. On the rare occasion that a member is defeated or captured, they inevitably suffer a mysterious death before they can reveal any pertinent information about the Council itself.

History

The first tales of the Sunless council come from Froenia, where they are credited with the assassination of King Jodian Godric, beginning the civil war that split the once-unified nation into several parts.
