This magical arrow is filled with enchanted clockwork that make it semi-sentient, seeking its mark without fail around corners and crevasses.
However, the blow the arrow took while decapitating Krang Ultrom the Death Slaad was enough to damage its returning mechanism, and as such will only attempt to travel back to it's owner in a straight line, and once per firing.
This arrow was given to The One-Shot Wonders by Jazriul the Hound Archon , in case the Slaad were to ever repopulate in their realm.
In order to attune to this item, the user must recite the following: "Time's Arrow -- March ever forward, and find my target without fail!"

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The detailed clockwork in the shaft of the arrow has several motors with wires that adjust the arrow's movement using kinetic energy.

This magically constructed arrow finds the shortest path to hit it's target. If one isn't available, the arrow falls to the ground. The arrow will attempt to return to it's attuned master's location once hit, but only in a straight line, and will fall to the ground upon failure. You may call out to the arrow to have it attempt to return to you.
Targets of your ranged attacks with this item do not get bonuses to Armor Class because of cover. Arrow will attempt to return to your location once, in a straight line. You can use a Bonus Action on your turn to call out to the arrow for it to attempt retrieval once more.
