Shrine of Earth and Water

Deep in the jungles of Southern Izea those with steadfast will or dire need have made their way to the Shrine of Earth and Water. An ancient and stately structure, the Shrine is said to have been built to honor greater elementals of water and earth who provided the mud springs that fill the valley in which it is located. These mud "springs" or "baths" have remarkable healing powers and those that brave the journey may be cured of almost any ailment by soaking in the warm pools. The monks who live at the shrine and assist visitors tell stories of horrible diseases and grievous injuries that would normally require powerful and expensive magics to heal yet simply disappeared after a few short days spent in the baths.   In more recent times the jungles around the shrine have become far more dangerous as interlopers from the north find there way to the nearby mountains seeking wealth. These newcomers, more often than not, cannot help but become embroiled in skirmishes with other clans over mines and other territory which leads them to kill any stranger they come across assuming they are an enemy. The monks who protect the shrine believe that it is simply a matter of time before one of these clan wars spills into their valley and forces them to fight for their home and their holy place.   Despite their outward passivity and focus on healing it would be foolish for any trespasser to underestimate the martial abilities of the monks that reside here. Each has trained extensively for the day they must protect the shrine and will enter any altercation empowered by the same elementals which lent their magics to the springs around them.
