Amarian
The amarian people are the oldest known human ethnicity. Known for their wild lifestyle in the jungle, the amarian call the jungles of Amaria their home. There are many hundreds, maybe even thousands, of amarian tribes scattered all throughout the jungles of Amaria, where they live very isolated lives. Amarians are known for never really participating in international politics.
Furthermore, the amarians doesn't live in a united society, but rather in small tribes all over the jungle. Many of which have unique traditions and culture.
Naming Traditions
Family names
For the amarian people, they often make reference to the jungle in the family names. Names like Jungleheart, Lakerunner, Birdwisper and so would be seen as good Amarian family names.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
Modern amarian is the most spoken language within the jungles of Amaria. Though a few very old and very isolated tribes deep within the jungle still speak versions of ancient amarian.
Though most tribes speak what we know as modern amarian, the language itself vary a lot depending on what tribe you are in. Some tribes use different words for some things, and some even have a bit different grammatical rules.
Culture and cultural heritage
As with nearly all things related to amarians, the culture is completely reliant on the tribe you are in. All tribes have different traditions and customs. They all have different rituals for different reasons and so on. Nearly nothing when it comes to culture is shared between the amarian peoples tribes.
Shared customary codes and values
Like so many of the other things, the value of an amarian depends a lot on what tribe they might be from. Some tribes value the hunt, some the creation of life by planting trees and so. Others see the value in magic. But what is a common value in almost all amarian tribes, is the love and respect of the nature around them.
Average technological level
The level of technology obtained for the amarians is very low. They are one of the most primitive kingdoms. Not that they really need machines the way they live life. They are still very much a strong power, and do wield magic, even better then most of the other humans.
Art & Architecture
The amarian people are known for building giant temples within the jungle. They are known for using a type of clay only found in their homeland, called amarian clay. It is not known when the amarians started using this special clay, as even the oldest known temples are build from this powerful recourse.
Historical figures
There are a few internationally known figures of amarian people. Though most amarian heros are only known within the amarian jungle due to their extreme isolation. But one known very well is Castron. Even though he is known as the first castronian, he was born and raised as an amarian.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Amarians are people of rituals and traditions. Many rituals of the different amarian cultures will leave marks, and those marks are good for attracting the eyes of the other tribe members. Other things could be ritual based clothing and jewelry. Some tribes have a very hunter based culture, and will therefore see hunting trophies in clothing as attractive.
Gender Ideals
It depends very much on the different tribes' cultures. Some are very male dominated, some are very female dominated, and a few don't see a difference. Most tribes see males as mostly the hunters, and females as gatherers, but this is also very dependent on the tribe's culture.
Courtship Ideals
Most amarian tribes a lead by either a chief or a shaman, depending on what the traditions and culture are from that specific tribe. Some other tribes even have completely different leaders, but in general it is either a chief or a shaman.
