This relic is a purple cloak with silver filigree that depicts the sisters slaying a genestealer cult leader. It commemorates a victory achieved by the Order of the Pierced Veil against a particularly malignant Genestealer Cult that had infiltrated the planetary hierarchy on the Hiveworld of Calvix IV.

History

A Genestealer Cult, known as the Children of the Shadowed Eye, had already spread its influence deep into Calvix IV’s governance, destabilizing the region and amassing covert followers from the ranks of planetary officials, priests, and even low-ranking Astra Militarum. As their power grew, they aimed to plunge the planet into rebellion, creating a stronghold from which the Genestealers could continue to corrupt nearby star systems.
In response, the Sisters of Battle dispatched a small, elite force of the Order of the Pierced Veil to investigate the dark omens surrounding Calvix IV. Among them was the renowned Canoness Miria Azarnath, a powerful psyker who wielded her abilities with intense discipline and loyalty to the Emperor. Miria and her squad encountered relentless opposition, facing cultists who fought with a fanatical zeal and the psychic manipulations of the Genestealer Magus, the cult's insidious leader.
After a series of brutal skirmishes in the labyrinthine underbelly of Calvix IV’s hive cities, Canoness Azarnath confronted the Magus in a final battle. With her psychic gifts and unshakable faith, she withstood the Magus’s attempts to corrupt her mind, ultimately striking him down and purging his followers in a holy firestorm. This victory was a turning point for Calvix IV, allowing the planet to be reclaimed by the Imperium and inspiring the Order of the Veil to honor Azarnath’s courage and sacrifice.
The cloak, which became known as the Veil of the Vanquished, was crafted from Azarnath's personal war garb, now imbued with the blessing of the Ecclesiarchy and the psychic echoes of her struggle. Over the millennia, it has been worn only by the most esteemed Canonesses of the Order, serving as both armor and relic in times of dire need. It is said that those who wear it can hear faint whispers of Azarnath’s psychic resilience, lending them the strength to resist even the most potent of psychic attacks.
After Kronus fell to the T'au, the Veil of the Vanquisher vanished. Some believe the aliens transported it to a secret vault, deep within the planet's surface, as a relic of their defiance against the Imperium. Others speculate that it was gifted to the Eldar as a psychic offering.
