The Order was founded in the early 38th Millennium, catalyzed by the heroic sacrifice of Inquisitor Seraphine Liora. During a desperate battle against the insidious Cult of the Veil, which sought to summon a genestealer cult in service to the Tyranids, Liora made the ultimate sacrifice. Channeling her psychic abilities, she performed a selfless act to obliterate the cult’s ritual site, effectively saving countless lives but losing her own in the process.

Her martyrdom inspired a group of Sororitas to embrace the potential of psykers as allies in the fight against the enemies of the Imperium. Thus, the Order of the Pierced Veil was born, advocating for the integration of sanctioned psykers who had proven their loyalty to the Emperor.
