Twin Cities of Cytos and Knoros 20 AR - 500 AR

Capital cities: Cytos & Knoros   Ruling body: The Duel Trade Council

History

Cytos

Cytos prospered with its strategic location in trade between the western straits, and eventually progressed into a local hegemony. For a time they dominated both trade and diplomacy along the Western Coasts. However, upon the rise of the Mako, Cytos gradually lost its dominion. By 500 AR, they and Knoros had been entirely vassalized by the Great Empire of the West.   Towards the start of the 800s AR, the peoples of the region became less and less complacent under Mako laws, and tensions began to run high. The citizens of Cytos and Knoros were among the first to declare independence from the empire.

Knoros

Next to Cytos was Kylos, nicknamed "second sister", which served as a trade center as well as a strongly fortified port. In fact, for much of its history, it was THE strongest naval base in the west.   Knoros was originally a settlement of the Sinan people, but eventually it broke away when the Sina hegemonies formed. They quickly allied with Cytos, despite being of different cultures, and thus formed this legendary union.
