Brief Overview
If you are here as a part of a D&D or other RPG campaign, this article is not necessary for creating your character or learning your origins.
Where should I begin?
If you're a fan of chronological order or historical approach, first check out this timelapse video of how the nations of the world got to where they are today:You can also follow along by reading the Kronis Key Events Timeline, which should help give a general knowledge summary of Kronis.
Another start would be in Stories of Kronis, where you can explore a growing library of short stories about the many events of Kronis told from different perspectives.
Alternatively, you can dive right into the cultures, religions, or states that intrigue you the most. If you still don't feel attached to any particular region or people, check out the article Aesthetics of Kronis, which describes real-world inspirations for each culture with the intent to spark interest.
Beyond these resources, maybe just blindly delve into a series of links and start piecing information together. All articles are interconnected in their lore - you may encounter events referenced multiple times but from different perspectives and including different details each time.
Terminology
There are only a few terms that are mentioned without being defined in the same article, they are listed here: Mythos: Kronis was originally created as a world grounded in realism. In various articles, the term Mythos is applied to aspects that have been added to adapt Kronis to a fit more of a D&D setting. Kronis is written in such a way that you do not need to understand any kind of magic system to grasp its stories. Barakon: The name for the Southern Continent, it comes from a shortening of the Swahili "bara la kusini" which also simply means "Southern continent" Severon: The name for the Northern Continent, it is similarly derived - from Russian "Sever" (Север), which means "North". Island of Tongiu: The western subcontinental island between Severon and Barakon. Comparible in size to a slightly smaller Australia. The name "Tongiu" was given by a Makan Emperor, it derives from a Japanese translation I have long forgotten - and I don't know Japanese well enough to reverse search it. Island of Moros: Moros is the eastern subcontinental island. It is regarded in the same way as Tongiu, as a land held separate from Barakon and Severon. The name "Moros" is simply after the city of Moros, which founded the Morosian Empire, and in their own vanity named their home island, Moros, as well.
