Sul Khatesh

Keeper of Secrets

Sul Khatesh, commonly known as the Keeper of Secrets is an Underlord of Kormund, and the master of occult & dark knowledge.   Sul Khatesh is master to all evil arcana, bending and twisting the Winds of Magic to her will, and corrupting it. Her power is often sought after by dark wizards, warlocks, and scholars. Each who call to her are corrupted and defiled, leaving them as a husk of their former selves and now pawns under her masterful puppeteering. The Underlord sought to bring all magic under her control, and to forever halt any attempts to maintain the neutrality of the Winds.   The Underlord would experience several moments of freedom from her prison, the most notably when she corrupted the Steward of Light Dolmus Ophren and deceived him into believing he had rescued the god Lathander from an ancient prison held by the giants of Jotunheim. After Sul Khatesh was freed, she annihilated all present, and shattered the Jotun continent she was bound on. Sul Khatesh was eventually hunted by the chosen of Ioun and Moradin, who sacrificed themselves to perform a new ritual of the Binding of the Silver Flame which required the souls of the chosen to ignite the flame, binding Sul Khatesh one more to a prison, this time in the Amriel Mountains of the Material Plane, underneath the Everforge.   Sul Khatesh still exerts her will when possible, seeping out of her prison to lure others to her cause, seeing the Empire have such a vicious control over Magic enrages her, she wants magic to flow freely...freely so she may corrupt it.

Personal history

Sul Khatesh, like her siblings, was born out of the corpse of her father Kormund after he died in the War of Twins against his brother, the Progenitor God Garenthar. Sul Khatesh embodies her father's love and mastery over the Winds of Magic, for he is one of the two who created it. Sul Khatesh's form is made of the physical manifestation of the Dark Winds of Magic, while the Dark Winds exist, the Prime Deities and mortals of the world have done well to stem its influence, something Sul Khatesh works tirelessly to change.    Sul Khatesh spent centuries away from the Material Plane, where her siblings plotted. She sought out the remains of the Eldorians, and thought they would make the most ideal vessels to rebuild her father's empire. The Mage Lord Myrddin's essence was discovered by the Underlord, who attempted to bind him to her will. Myrddin's mastery over magic was godlike, and he was able to resist, using his full power to bear he cried out to the heavens, and the gods Lathander and Bahamut emerged, entering battle with the Underlord. Sul Khatesh was chased all across the planes by the two deities, who refused to allow her escape. Eventually, Sul Khatesh emerged into Jotunheim, where she was cornered by the god Tyr, who entered the fray. The three Prime Deities together subdued her and performed the Binding of the Silver Flame to encase her in a nearly impenetrable prison deep under the ground of Jotunheim, charging the Giants there to forever guard it before retreating to the Celestial Heavens.    Sul Khatesh sat in darkness for centuries and centuries, seething and plotting, waiting for her moment. She was able to escape once after being assisted by her sister, Heirrath. The Prime Deities united to halt Sul Khatesh and Heirrath's efforts, binding both of them once more. Heirrath was able to empower Sul Khatesh, who could stand against several of the deities at once. Heirrath & Sul Khatesh wounded Erathis, who to this day still bears the scars.
