Keeper of Tomes (a.k.a. The Grey)

Orryn, known as Orryn the Grey, is the current Keeper of Tomes of Candlekeep in the Republic of Calemdar. A being of mystery and curiosity, Orryn has been the most fervent and dedicated Keeper of Tomes in recent history, and is seen as one of the foremost seekers and collectors of knowledge, comparable to Virris, the Baelnorn Librarian of Cormantor, the lost Library. Orryn is most renowned for leading an expedition of Avowed into Cormantor and recovering all pieces of knowledge left after the Whispered One's raid in 1102 EoT.
Orryn is a founding member of the Order of the Grey, a globespanning organization of spellcasters who seek to search out and safeguard knowledge. Originally, the Order of the Grey had to find and construct their own fortresses, which often came under attack from external forces, with Orryn as the Keeper of Tomes of Candlekeep, the Order of the Grey now operates out of the Fortress itself. Under Orryn's leadership, Candlekeep's defenses have been bolstered exponentially, and boundless new pieces of knowledge (both useful and useless) have been added to the Great Library.
